Pikisali, Oulu Theatre

Fri 11.9. at 19

In At Once, in Helsinki coreographer Carl Knif turns his gaze again towards the human being and the enigmatic nature of life. The theme of the work is a miracle as part of today’s worldview. The work examines the possibility of sudden radical change through four interlinked life stories. The work features six dancers and two actors.

Since the start the company in 2012 it has risen to the forefront of Finnish dance with blend of highly recognizable narratives and virtuoso dancing. The themes of the pieces are frank, personal and fearlessly bare and yet mercifully poetical. The straightforward nature of the work, which arises from a profound artistic sensitivity and a strikingly well conceived visuality, makes the pieces memorable. The work of Carl Knif’s pieces have toured in 10 countries.
